Regulatory Compliance
Since its founding in 1994, Pacific Legacy has provided expert professional services in support of our clients’ state and federal regulatory requirements. This includes the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Archaeological Resource Protection Act (ARPA), Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and Hawai‘i Revised Statutes (HRS) Chapter 6E.
Cultural Resource Studies
Pacific Legacy provides a range of archaeological services involving survey, excavation, data analyses, and evaluations. In California, this includes Phase I, Phase II, and data recovery investigations, geoarchaeological studies, archaeological monitoring, and special studies including starch identification, zooarchaeology, biological anthropology, lithic analyses, and historic period materials analyses. In Hawai‘i, this includes literature review and field inspection, archaeological inventory survey, data recovery, mitigation plan development, and archaeological monitoring services.
Cultural Impact Studies
Pacific Legacy’s Pacific Basin office provides research and consultation services for Cultural Impact Assessments and Ka Pa‘akai Analyses that contribute to Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements to ensure compliance with legal protections of Native Hawaiian cultural practices, resources, and beliefs. We are currently carrying out cultural impact studies for projects throughout the Hawaiian archipelago, including Kaua‘i, O‘ahu, Maui, Lāna‘i, Molokai, and Hawai‘i Island.
